Inclusive and Accessible Walk and Talk Therapy in Westchester County
Do you find that you feel more relaxed after spending time in nature? Have you been wanting to experience the benefits of gentle movement? Are you seeking a change from traditional talk therapy?
If you enjoy getting outdoors and are interested in using movement as a tool for healing, Walk and Talk may be a good fit for you! Walk and Talk is an integrative, holistic and non-traditional therapeutic approach. Walking sessions blend together elements of trauma informed yoga, mindfulness-based stress reduction and nature-based therapy. Walk and Talk sessions are open and accessible to all body types and sizes. No experience with walking/hiking necessary!
There are many things that disconnect us from our bodies and our environment (including our fast paced culture!) It’s easy to become disconnected from ourselves when adhering to the demands of life. During a Walk and Talk session, we are able to practice becoming more present and embodied.
Pairing physical movement with time spent in nature can help us to process our thoughts, emotions and experiences. It has also been proven to increase serotonin, improving both mood and self esteem. In a Walk and Talk session, we are not just focusing on what is happening in the mind but also what is happening in the body and our environment. Walk and Talk helps us to bridge the gap between mind, body and spirit.
